Adjustment

Compromises and
Adjustment becomes obvious
When life takes grey shade

I was married now. Married to a man who was seventeen years older than me.  Father of two children.  I  didn’t know how my so called new life would be. Maybe my husband hasn’t forgotten his previous wife yet. I envisaged a hanging framed photo of his wife. What if children don’t accept me? I exhaled a labored sigh.  I will try to adjust.  Finally I looked at the photo of my parents, who left me alone many years back. Vision blurred. I knew it was my last day there.

  10. A mixture of sadness of what is past and excitement for what the future holds are embodied in this post. Moving on to a new chapter in life it often hard and you captured those emotions brilliantly.

  12. Was the marriage by choice or arrangement. Either way I can see all those emotions weighing poignantly. I know many marriages between age mismatched couples and find them to be often very wonderful and successful so I didn't find this sad as so many of the others suggested.

    1. No woman would choose to marry a man (17 years older) who was married before with kids. It's her circumstances and she is left with no choice.

She may lead a nice life. I just tried to capture her emotions and her fears regarding this relationship...
