Anything But Books Tag

It's been a long time since I've written a tag post. Okay, let me rephrase it. It's been a long time since anybody tagged me. Thanks to Shantala who tagged me for this interesting tag post called 'Anything But Books Tag'.

You have to answer some interesting questions that are not related to books. So, here it goes:

Name a cartoon(s) that you love.

I used to watch Tom and Jerry. Now, I watch whatever my 4yo likes (However, now he has upgraded his choice to 'regional' News channels, I wonder why). However, I like watching Max and Ruby, Motu Patlu and Peppa Pig.

What is your favorite song right now?

My current favourites are:
‘Channa Mereya’ (I can't get enough of it. I love Arijit Singh’s singing right from the Fame Gurukul days)

What could you do for hours (that isn’t reading)?

Internet browsing. If you think it’s reading in some way, then it would be watching TV, alone.

What is something you love to do that your followers would be surprised by?

Followers? Don't know if anyone would be surprised, but I love singing and I can sing well (Not a very good singer though). Sometimes, I keep humming same song that I annoy myself.

And, I love interpreting my dreams (I mostly remember them).

What is your favorite unnecessarily specific thing to learn about (this can do with books, I guess)?

Learning is beautiful, and I am a careful learner. I am learning to write better (Love to read on writing posts. Sometimes, sharing my On Writing experiences). I want to learn watercolour painting. (I have done quite a few. I know they are childish. But am I not courageous enough to share these?).

What is something unusual you know how to do?

I can touch my nose with my tongue. Can you do that?

Name something you’ve made in the last year (and show us, if you can).

This questions makes me feel ashamed because I can’t make anything (except my 4 yo’s craft projects.)

What is your most recent personal project?

My second book (Working on the first draft) and weight loss (Okay, it seems to be a never ending project but this time I’m serious). Working on some easy, small fitness goals.

Tell us something you think about often (maybe while staring out of windows).

I have an always occupied mind. I can’t recall when I am not thinking anything. Maybe, when I am engrossed in an interesting book?). I still think about my first book. About writing. Ephemeral ideas and 'I wish, what if' thoughts make my mind a mishmash or if I can say, a Farrago :).

At this point of time, it’s mostly about my second book. Scenes, dialogues, situations…

Give us something that’s your favorite, but make it something oddly specific, not like your favorite food, but like your favorite food when you’ve been studying for hours and forgot to eat. Or, you know, something like that.

Studying for hours and forgot to eat? Well, it hasn’t happened. In fact, I used to keep several packets of biscuits and cakes while studying. But, my attention hovered around those packets and I couldn't focus until I finished them off!

Actually, I didn’t get this question. Still answering. I am fond, extremely fond of anything that's sweet or made from milk.

That’s all from my side. I am tagging Kanchana, Namrata, Gayatri, Preethi, Harshita, Sakshi, Arti, Jyoti. Consider yourself tagged if you are reading this post. It's a fun tag and you would like to do it, won't you? Please leave your links if you decide to do it. Would love to hear your answers.

Blogging is bliss!

Image @ The Mag

This image pictures one of my dreams, exactly! (I dream a lot!) And I still remember that dream.

It depicts a wonderful land of stories, where myriads of emotions float. Writing stories are like painting. Painting vivid imagery with words. It reflects nature, that itself stores bundle of stories.

Okay, when we talk about reading and writing, we just cannot miss blogging. Sometimes I feel that blogging is like floating in dreams, playing in the galaxy of thoughts and imagination. It’s a string that connects and arranges a rendezvous. It is also about getting appreciation. Appreciation from fellow bloggers and writers.

Recently, Rudraprayaga nominated me for Sunshine Award. I extend my hearty thanks to her for this award and for reading me! I so like the name of this award.

Describe yourself in one word/phrase

It's me: Optimistically patient.

I’d like to share this award with:

Privy Trifles: For her sunshine hope
Arti Honrao: For her sunshine emotions
Corinne: For her sunshine Gyan
Saru: For her sunshine Poems
Jyoti: For her sunshine recipes

A big thank you to Arti Honrao (Author of four books) who nominated me for Liebster Award. Okay, I have to answer a few questions for her. So, here it goes:

What is writing to you?

Writing is actually a blissful embrace of serendipity and now it comes naturally to me.  It’s a wonderful mode of expression. Expression of my experience, observation and imagination.

Why Blogging?

Now I realize that blogging is bliss! A lovely journal that encloses my thoughts and imagination. And for this I'll have to thank my brother Nilabh verma (Author of mythological fiction Swayamvar) who literally dragged me to this wonderful world.

What does your blog mean to you?

My dearest friend!

If given a choice, what would you like to change about life now?

Sometimes, life doesn't give you the liberty to change or rectify things (It's not philosophy. I mean it) You just have to learn to be happy, accepting the imperfections.

Say something to someone you have always wanted to (Can be in a code without names)

"Please, declutter your mind and heart and fill them with pure niceness. You're old enough to behave with maturity and thoughtfulness."

Meaning of life to you in one word.

Challenge! (And I'm always ready to accept the challenges)

One lesson that life has taught you that you want everyone to know.

There's always a way. You just have to find that out. Be strong. Whimpering never helps.

One song that describes you perfectly.

Um...can't think of one right now :)

How would you like to be remembered?

A good human being who writes beautifully.

Words for me.

First of all, I really like the way you weave emotions in your writing. Keep writing. Be yourself. Stay happy ...always :)

Creative rendezvous

The idea of Author Blog Hop was new to me but I found it interesting. A kind of creative rendezvous, where some creative people meet through their blogs and share something about them and their ideas.

I came to know Arti Honrao, a wonderful writer, who dips her pen in the emotions to craft her beautiful stories, when we played the Preeti Shenoy's prompts. She is the author of three books "My Life Story", "Is This Love & Autumn: The Last Leaf" (I got a chance to read this nice book. You can read my review HERE), and "Resemblance: Journey of a Doppleganger" . Recently, she (And Namrata) has started a lovely e-magazine Writer's Ezine.

So, it starts with a short question answer session.

What am I working on?

I'm working on some short stories and articles.

How does my work differ from others of its genre?

Well, it's difficult to answer. But I would say I try to make my writing interesting by adding some real life snippets. I try to keep the narration simple and focus on contemporary/relatable plots, characters and situations.

Why do I write what I do?

I write to settle the eddy of thoughts and imagination whirling in my always occupied mind. I think writing is the best way of express. I relate to contemporary (Sometimes paranormal) stories/ideas/characters and it reflects in my writing.

How does my writing process work?

I always try to chisel the ideas that flash in my mind. Sometimes they transpire at odd time, place or even in my dreams. My mind is always occupied and it sometimes, it makes me restless.

I would like to invite two authors to join this creative rendezvous:

Uma Maheshawari Anandane

She is a wonderful writer and has published two e-books Inside My Poem Book and Rhythmus, many different articles. She blogs @ Rhythmus and writes parenting articles @ Momscribe.

Nilabh Verma

He is an engineer by profession and writer by passion. He blogs @ Nilabh's and Dharmasansar. He is the author of Hindi Mythological Fiction Swayamvar.  You can read my review HERE and participate in a giveaway on Goodreads.

On two years of blogging and appreciation!

I’m happy. Feeling content. My blog turns two years old this month. For me it’s an achievement as I was very apprehensive about starting a blog. I have never thought that I could ever write 381 posts on my blog. But thanks to my brother Nilabh, who encouraged or literally dragged me to this interesting world and I’m glad. (I would like to congratulate my brother as he is going to be a published author as his debut novel ‘Swayamwar’ is going to release very soon. It’s a mythological novel, based on ‘The Mahabharata’. If you like Hindi and Mythological book, I’m sure you’re going to like it as it’s an interesting theme and Nilabh is a very good writer.)

Okay, back to my blog. It’s a very-very special space for me. It helped me to unlock my imagination and thoughts. I met some really nice bloggers. It feels great when my online friends appreciate my writing through their nice comments. When they support my blog by joining this site. I truly thank all of them. Appreciation really means a lot.
