Acrylic Painting: Working on Black Canvas

When I painted on a black canvas for the first time, it wasn't a choice. Frankly, I didn't understand how it works, working on a black canvas. But then one day I ruined a painting. Didn't want to waste the canvas so I painted it black and decided to paint over it.

It was a wonderful surprise, as I found it really fascinating the way colours pop up.

I painted this painting on a black canvas, again, because I ruined a painting. Also, it's an experiment. I wanted to capture the night life on the hills. Wondering if I managed to capture it. What do you think?

Also, I have started to record painting videos and started a painting channel, on a whim. Sometimes it's okay to do things without planning. You can watch my short videos, if you feel like. Please share your honest feedback, in case you watch. Thank you.

Tea for two and a piece of cake: by Preeti Shenoy

Tarang finds solace in her home, with her dear ones
Enjoys reading, writing, blogging & music immensely
A dreamer having myriad of thoughts and imaginations in her always occupied mind

And

Careful learner
Aspiring writer who always
Keeps her hopes, courage and dreams alive, as for her
Every day is a new beginning.

Written for Creative Prompt Tuesday provided by Preeti Shenoy that says to "Write about yourself in acrostic form and of course the words are TEA & CAKE

Yesterday I finished reading “Tea for two and a piece of cake” by Preeti shenoy. Quite different from her last book “Life is what you make it”, it’s a unique tale of love. A simple, easy, and gripping read.

This is the story of Nisha, a plump, lovelorn yet independent girl. She finds love in Samir, a suave, intelligent and wealthy guy, who enjoys his work and life. Nisha thinks she has achieved all the happiness in her life when Samir proposes her for marriage. But after eight years, her life is shattered when Samir announces that their ‘marriage is over’.

Trying to collect the wrecked pieces of her life, with aching heart and her two children, she again finds a devoted lover Akash, her old friend, five years younger than her.  She finds him around her in every difficult situation. But this time she is really apprehensive about nurturing any relationship beyond friendship.

I found this book very interesting, engrossing and entertaining. The characters and situations are very identifiable that anyone can relate to. The language is very clean and crisp that makes the reading smooth. There’s a very sweet thing about this book that all the chapter names are names of songs.Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and am really looking forward to Preeti Shenoy’s next book.

Hachi: A Dog’s Tale

                                        Perfect companion
Enters in life and bonds well
                                        Tenderly attached.

Richard Gere is one of my favorite actors and I’ve seen quite a few movies starring RG. But honestly I’ve never wanted to watch “Hachi: A dog’s story”

Last night I accidentally watched this movie and I’m glad I did so. “Hachi” is such a wonderful movie. Very touching!

It is a story of a dog named ‘Hachi’ and his master ‘Parker Wilson’ a professor played by ‘Richard Gere’. Parker took Hachi as his pet and in few days they bonded quite well and developed deep feelings for each other. The dog used to follow him to the train station in the morning where he leaves for his work and waited patiently for him outside the station in the evening. At the train station Hachi attracted the attention of other commuters. Many of the people who frequented the train station had seen Hachi and Professor Parker together everyday.

One day, suddenly, his master died due to cerebral hemorrhage. Hachi did not know that his master was not returning back ever. He religiously waited outside the station everyday for nine long years. His loyalty is profiled in the local newspaper. Hachi, now old and achy, died outside the station loyally waiting for his master. After his death he had visions of his master and they finally reunite fondly.

Richard Gere is stunning as ever and the dog who played ‘Hachi’ acted, yeah acted really well.

Actually this film is based on real story of a dog ‘Hachiko’ who was born in Odate in 1923. After the death of his owner in 1925, Hachiko returned to the Shibuya train station the next day and every day after that for the next nine years. The real Hachiko died in 1935. In April 1934, a bronze statue in his likeness was erected at Shibuya Station.

Success

Energy of optimism
Blows out the flames of
Burgeoning despair.

Success is a matter of fulfillment,
Pleasure and pride.
At first you may not succeed,
But with growing zest and effort,
You can take the success in your stride.

The taste of success is sweet,
Rich in delight and contentment.
You may face trouble at first,
But with growing confidence,
It persuades the luck in new direction.

You’re not going to give up,
Make it loud and clear.
You may have to take pain in making attempts,
But with growing determination,
Success gives you the opportunity to cheer.

                    Bygones are just bygones

Creates a fuss in heart & mind

               …Beholding back

                   Niggling worries
                   Ensues a chaos.
