Sachin Tendulkar: The Final Stroke!

'15th November' is a very special date in Indian cricket as on this date Sachin Tendulkar played his last inning and on this very date, 24 years back, Sachin made his debut.

When Tendulkar arrived on the ground, to play the last match of his career, and the way the team members of West Indies and umpires greeted him warmly, made me nostalgic and a bit emotional.

That moment took me many years back....

When, one day, my friend told me that "There's a new cricketer 'Sachin Tendulkar' and he is awesome!"

When I saw his photo for the first time.

When, while returning from school, I saw a notebook in a shop. There was a young boy standing on the cover with a bat and it read 'Sachin Tendulkar'. I went to have a close look, then, inexplicably bought it. It stayed with me for a long time, always, and saw me following, enjoying and cherishing everything about him.

When, like everyone, I fell in love with him!

When, everyone knew I was an ardent fan of Tendulkar.

When I saw him biting his nails and felt good that we both shared this habit and I shouldn't be scolded for that.

When I pasted a large poster of Tendulkar in my room even though I hate sticking celebrity posters on walls.

When, one fine Sunday, I heard everyone calling me fervently. Clueless and confused, I went to the room where everyone was gathered (Still calling me) in front of the television. A tall man was talking to a lean, meek young boy. The young boy was Sachin Tendulkar and the programme was "Cricket with Mohinder Amarnath".

When with my newly developed interest in cricket, I used to get up @ 3 a.m in the month of February to watch the 1992 cricket world cup and my uncle helped me understand the game.

When I felt nervous when Tendulkar was on strike, and silently prayed for his big score.

Sachin Tendulkar is a passion. He is a feeling. An Era! There is no replacement for Sachin.

Actually, my interest in cricket burgeoned with Sachin Tendulkar and it seems to diminish with his retirement. These days, I don't watch cricket much (Except Sachin's innings. Of course I watched every bit of his last inning!) but it's hard to believe that the master has finally said goodbye to international cricket and his incredible fan following.

But, I don't want to say goodbye to him. I don't want to miss him. I just want to stay in the trance that I got into....many years back!

Century of Centuries: Glorious Super Century!!

So, finally, after loads of expectation, waiting, judgments and criticism, our very own Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar attained an incredible milestone.  Patience paid really well as today he graced his bat with magnificent 100th century of his international cricket career.

Today playing against Bangladesh, he scored his 100th hundred in 138 balls. He made his last (99th) century against South Africa on 12th March 2011 at Nagpur during the world cup. He has 51 centuries in the test cricket and today he scored his 49th hundred in ODI cricket.

It’s really an incredibly special, emotional and indeed a HISTORICAL moment for Sachin and Indians. Sachin is Great and he deserves a
HUGE CONGRATULATION and BLESSINGS
.

Congratulations Sachin!!  We feel proud to witness that precious moment and we are proud of you!

The Master Stroke!

MS Dhoni struck the glorious six declaring the triumph. Team India hits the bull’s-eye. Yes, we won the Cricket World Cup 2011!!!!

India beat Srilanka by 6 wickets. It is a glorious moment. A historic moment. Now the shining glory is in India!

When Srilanka won the toss and decided to bat first, it was troublesome as in nine world cup finals, only two teams won after chasing.

Despite of controlled bowling and crisp fielding, Srilanka managed to score 274 runs. When Virendra Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar got out early, they left everyone stunned. But Gautam Gambhir (97) and the captain MS Dhoni (91) played an extremely responsible innings and gripped the match. They made the country proud. The emotions erupted and oozed out from the eyes of Indian players in the form of tears. It is really an emotional moment.

Many –Many congratulations to Team India and of course to the entire nation for such a glorious achievement. A special congratulation to the Master, Sachin Tendulkar who tried and waited for six World Cup and 21 long years to achieve this victory. That was a touching and spectacular moment when the youngsters lifted him on their shoulders and walked around the field. He will definitely treasure and cherish this moment all his life.

Well Done Team India, now the WORLD CHAMPIONS. Thank you so much for making this dream come true. We are very proud of you!!!!

We won!!!!

We are in World cup final!!!!!

India beat Pakistan in semi finals, qualifying for the final. It’s a great achievement indeed. India conquered over Pakistan 5th time (Every time) in World cup (Sachin Tendulkar is savouring this victory since 21 years and in 6 consecutive World Cups). Sachin Tendulkar won the Man of the Match award.

Indian players played really well though the pitch did not seem very supportive. No doubt Pakistan fought well but eventually the ball is in our court. We are just one step behind the final destination. Indian team is going to appear in final for the third time.

India will meet Srilanka in final on 2nd April. For the first time, two Asian team will be combating in the Cricket World cup final. We wish our Indian team all the best and we hope that this time the victory will be repeated after 28 long years and the much awaited glorious trophy will be ours.

Super excitement!

Two cricket teams were vying to register the triumph and to hold the glorious World Cup. That was a neck to neck performance. Despite scoring a prestigious score, team ‘A’ had to fight hard. Team ‘B’ was chasing that quite competently.

Mr. ‘J’, who had a great affinity for cricket since 35 years, was praying like any other supporter of Team ‘A’ for the victory. His heart was beating fast.

Just one ball was left and Team ‘B’ had to score just 2 runs to win. The bowler was ready to deliver the last ball. That had to be the best, so that Team ‘B’ could be stopped at the dot.

The excitement was at the optimum level. People were fidgeting restlessly. Hearts were doing hip-hop. The ball was delivered and the batsman hit it.

Some thought team ‘A’ won. Some guessed team ‘B’ was the winner. Everyone rose on the feet and eagerness gripped their hearts. But, the batsman managed to take just a single and the match resulted in a tie.

For both the teams, the match was saved by the bell! No need to mention, feeling of regret mingled with relief.

But hey! Mr. ‘J’ found fainted on the couch.

After half an hour, the doctor said – “He is no more. He had a massive heart attack!”

(Do control your super excitement try to tackle every situation with a cool mind. Many people have suffered due to unfettered excitement.)

De ghuma ke!

Right now India is resonating with crackers and strangely I’m not feeling irritated. It’s the time when the whole nation follows just one religion. That is “Indianism”.

As the World cup song says “De ghuma ke”, India completely followed it. Fever of world cup 2011 is raising everyday and today India, started with a bang. Congratulations to Sehwag (175), Virat Kohli (100), the entire team and of course to entire nation! Of course there is still a long way to go but this victory in the very first match is definitely going to boost the confidence of our Indian team. Let the fever of World Cup reach the optimum level.

Today India defeated Bangladesh by 87 runs. Though Bangladesh fought back well but it’s a nice opening. I, on the behalf of the entire nation wish our Indian team to continue this magnificence.

It is the last world cup for Sachin Tendulkar (The first one dismissed in this world cup yet we expect some of his finest innings in his last world cup) so he along with the whole team definitely would be keen to bring the World cup back after 27 long years.
We all want the “World Cup”!

We all wish our Indian team to perform well and bring the shining glory home.

De ghuma ke!
All the best and god bless.

Being Sachin Tendulkar

Today, Sachin Tendulkar completed his 50th Test century. Amazing! A peerless achievement indeed!  Congratulations to him. The entire nation is proud of him, of course!

Being Sachin Tendulkar is a phenomenon itself.  What to say about him? He is incredible. He is marvelous. He is a precious gem of our country. Actually, his personality is beyond description. He had been a strong pillar of Indian Cricket Team for years, and he will be onwards.  Not only in ODI and Test but in T 20 series too, his bat is blasting. Even now, he is in full bloom.

May the blast of the master continue further and may he bring the much awaited World Cup. Touch Wood!
