Birthday

          Birdie sat with hung face,
          There should be a celebration…
          …But there was no trace.
          This special day was going…
           …like another day,
          That was not fair…
          …for his 1st birthday.
          No one wished him,
          His visage was grim.
          Everyone one was roaming…
          …here and there,
          He thought gloomily…
          …that nobody cared.
           Birdie flew with sadness,
          Wandered high to kill…
          … His hopelessness.
          Returned at night…
          …to find dark shelter,
          Silence inside was deeper.
          He entered inside with fear,
          Where was his mommy dear?
          Suddenly, the room bathed…
          …with bright light,
Oh! That was a gorgeous sight.
          The room was decorated with…
          …colorful frills,
          To see this view…
          … His heart was thrilled.
           His mommy held a large…
           …yummy cake.
          He was heartily happy,
Coz it was for Birdie’s sake.
          The laughter burst all along,
           Everyone clapped and…
           Sang the birthday song.
           Birdie’s face lit with…
          … Instant pleasure,
          This was the moment,
          He wanted to treasure.
