Destiny plays mean
Games with life, watching remains
The only option
You try to struggle
But 'sometimes', helplessness seems
The only option
I'm absolutely not in favour of sitting something out. I'm always in favour of keeping your hope and courage alive and not giving up as I'm a very optimistic person. But I've seen many people trapped in the cruel tricks of fate and sometimes, no matter how hard they try, the situation seems out of control and they feel helpless and then hope, try, don’t give up, fight back, optimism etc. seem just mocking words and people keep thinking "Why me?". Also, I’m talking about a particular situation in life that people may face (At some point of life, we all face some situations when after all our efforts we may not succeed)
I've written this haiku/poem keeping those people/circumstances in mind.

ReplyDeleteDestiny does paly mean games sometimes, but sitting it out should never be an option. You can't have any fun that way.
ReplyDeleteHappens.. one should just be and flow..that's the only alternative.. have been there seen it..or perhaps passing through the similar phase with a definite commitment of not losing my smile.. Thanks Tarang..your haiku touched me.. RS:)
ReplyDelete@ All: I’m always in favour of keeping your hope and courage alive but I’ve written this haiku keeping some particular difficult situations in life that people may face, in mind. No matter how hard they try, sometimes, it seems out of control.

Sometimes the "curves balls" of life make us think all seems out of control ... Hopefully time will clear the field of vision.

I think perhaps our "hand" in destiny is more a matter of perception...this we can shift...look at things from different angles and suddenly what we considered suffering before becomes a difficulty that has taught us something important, and that is much easier to open to, to soften into. Stuff happens to everyone, painful experiences that we do not, would never choose, yet we don't have to remain stuck in the pain. This is what I have learned anyway.
ReplyDeleteExcellent haiku.
@ Becca: :)
ReplyDelete@ Anna: Thank you!:)
@ Laura: You're absolutely right! We should always keep a positive attitude in life. But again there are certain things that, sometimes, seems out of control.
Thank you so much for liking this post:)
